Background to the essence
It is very unusual to see a mole above ground, yet there was one at Lochwinnoch nature reserve when I looked out of the visitor centre window. It had never been seen there before although the mole hills had been evident for a long time. Although so very on view, and clearly out of its element and safety, it went about its own business with focus. It fulfilled its tasks irrespective. It was seen but remained unaffected. The essence is for when there is no choice but to be in people's view, but private work needs to be done. It may be internal work at times when one cannot withdraw from people. It may be withdrawing oneself in all but physical presence.
