First merges the black with the white part of ourselves, dissolving the shadow side. Then helps us take the path of the new instead of following our old ways, taking us down the Whitewater and not the old ways of the Blackwater.
Background to the essence
In the south of England the river Whitewater flows under a clear chalk-water canal and the two water bodies do not meet. Some miles away that river meets the Blackwater and when they meet they seem not to mingle but to flow each in its own way along the same course. And yet of course they are merged and affect one another. We each follow our path even if we travel with others, or our paths cross. At times though their presence affects us causing us to shed old ways and we take a new path.
Death of a Shadow
A shadow cannot turn to face the sun
Or take a solid form in light or none
Its source of life's attached just by its feet
It owns no spirit nor a heart to beat
And yet it exists
You have to recognise it lies behind
The many machinations of your mind
Which follow every movement as you go
Until you face its darkness so you know
The aspects it has
It's only then that you can move alone
You realise it's something that you own
That's only there to help to set you free
And after that it has no need to be
In infinity.
